P4 Science Learning Journey

From understanding how we see objects to investigating shadows, reflection, refraction, and how materials interact with light, students develop scientific inquiry skills through meaningful exploration and experimentation.
Our Primary 4 students embarked on an exciting Science Learning Journey to the Science Centre on 21, 23, and 28 July to deepen their understanding of light. The trip provided students with a fun, hands-on opportunity to discover how light helps us see, investigate how shadows are formed, and observe how light interacts with different everyday materials.
Throughout the interactive session, the students engaged in various experiments to explore key optical concepts. They investigated how factors such as distance and orientation affect the shape and size of shadows. Additionally, they actively tested how light behaves when passing through or bouncing off various substances, giving them a practical understanding of reflection and refraction.
The absolute highlight of the journey was navigating through the popular Mirror Maze. By witnessing how mirrors continuously reflect light to create fascinating visual effects and illusions, the students saw abstract concepts brought to life in a vivid, memorable way. Overall, the experience allowed them to connect their textbook knowledge with real-world applications in an engaging environment.
