Overseas Cultural Exchange Programme to Bangkok, Thailand (19 to 22 May 2026)

This overseas immersion to Bangkok provided our students with a rich and meaningful learning experience beyond the classroom. Designed with three clear objectives in mind, the trip set out to:

Deepen students' appreciation of diverse cultures and perspectives
Strengthen their ability to communicate and collaborate respectfully with others
Build a lasting awareness of environmental sustainability through hands-on, real-world experiences.

Over four days, students explored Thailand's vibrant culture and ancient heritage, connected with local peers, and reflected on how everyday choices impact the world around us. Every activity was thoughtfully designed to challenge students to step beyond the familiar, broaden their perspectives, and grow as empathetic and responsible individuals.

Through this experience, students returned home not just with memories, but with a deeper sense of what it means to lead with empathy, take charge with courage, and make a positive difference in the world around them.

From Singapore to Bangkok — let the learning begin!

Steeped in history, moved by culture. From the grandeur of the Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha to the mesmerising Khon performance and Khon Museum and the ancient streets of Ayutthaya — every moment was a living lesson in Thai heritage.

Wat Bot and Anubansamsen School From cultural exchanges to sustainability experiences — our Thai friends brought their world to us, and we shared ours right back!

International Friendship Day 2026

The theme for International Friendship Day, Forging Friendships in a Complex World, encourages students to take initiative in building meaningful connections and to appreciate diverse cultures and perspectives. Through these experiences, students develop the understanding and skills needed to contribute to a cohesive and globally connected society.

In line with this theme, our school organised a range of activities that provided students with engaging and meaningful opportunities to deepen their understanding of Singapore’s connections with other countries and to strengthen friendships within the school community.

Online Overseas Cultural Exchange Programme with Anubansamsen School & Wat Bot School

Our Lakers participated in a meaningful online cultural exchange with students from Anubansamsen School and Wat Bot School. The two schools are from Thailand, Bangkok.

During the sessions, they explored the cultural aspects of Singapore and Thailand, which helped to build greater cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.

The students also discussed environmental sustainability efforts in the two countries and considered ways they could play a part in adopting more sustainable practices.

Ending the day with a meaningful and enriching exchange session
