Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to a new academic year at Lakeside Primary School. I am delighted to partner you as we nurture every child to become a Creative Thinker, Empathetic Leader, and Lifelong Learner, guided by our cherished LPRIDE values — Love, Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Diligence and Excellence.
Having experienced the full suite of Lakeside experiences since joining the school in 2024, I feel deeply privileged to serve as the Principal of this warm and purposeful community. Together with our dedicated staff, I am committed to empowering every Laker to make a positive difference — in school, at home, and in the community.
At the heart of our work is the creation of a caring and enabling environment where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to grow. This year, we are excited to strengthen our B’Right Culture — a whole-school culture of Care, Leadership and Thinking. Building on the success of our B’Right Room and student well-being programmes since 2019, this spirit of care and empowerment will now be extended into every classroom, fostering a strong sense of belonging for every child.
Guided by our school theme, “Lead with LPRIDE”, we place strong emphasis on developing empathetic communication and leadership from within. Through the teaching of Executive Functioning Skills and ‘Leader in Me’ habits, our students learn to listen actively, manage emotions, express themselves respectfully, and resolve conflicts constructively. These essential life skills strengthen relationships, build confidence, and prepare our students to lead with empathy and purpose.
We believe that creativity and adaptability are vital for our children’s future. Through rich learning experiences, students are encouraged to explore ideas, appreciate diverse perspectives, and develop the confidence to serve a purpose greater than themselves. Our Lakeside curriculum equips every Laker with 21st-century dispositions, ensuring they start strong as they progress to secondary school and beyond.
Parents are key partners in this journey. Simple acts at home — modelling empathetic listening, encouraging respectful dialogue, asking reflective questions, and celebrating effort and positive choices — reinforce the values and skills our children learn in school. When home and school work hand in hand, children develop a strong and consistent foundation for character, communication and growth. As we journey together, we remain steadfast in our belief that every child can — Contribute, Achieve and be Nurtured. Our Lakers will be inspired to be their best and empowered to make a positive difference to others.
